A Malta yacht charter is the exclusive private hire of a licensed yacht and its crew, departing from Portomaso, Msida, Ta' Xbiex, Sliema or Mġarr in Gozo. Day charters run four to eight hours and cost from €1,430 for a half day and €1,900 for a full day on an 11.5m Axopar 37ST, rising to €10,900 a day for the 26m fully crewed Sunseeker 86 and from €14,500 a day for a 30m+ superyacht. Weekly charters begin at €34,800. Up to twelve guests may sail on a day charter; overnight numbers are set by cabin count. No licence is needed because every charter is skippered or fully crewed.

Orientation
Chartering a yacht in Malta means renting the entire vessel and its crew for an agreed period. Nobody else joins the booking. You are not buying a numbered seat on a scheduled cruise with a loudspeaker commentary — the route, the swim stops, the music, the lunch hour and the time you come home are yours to set, within the limits of the forecast and the skipper's hours.
Malta suits this format better than almost anywhere else in the Mediterranean because the distances are short. Portomaso to Comino's Blue Lagoon is roughly forty minutes at cruising speed. Gozo is a comfortable hour. Grand Harbour and the Three Cities are fifteen minutes from Sliema Creek. That means a single eight-hour charter can genuinely deliver three islands, four swim stops and a golden-hour return, which is why full-day charter outsells every other format we arrange.
Full-service means we handle everything around the yacht as well as the yacht itself: the route plan, the provisioning, the chef, the transfers from your hotel or the airport, the celebration cake, the photographer, the compliance paperwork your finance team may need. One concierge writes your quote, briefs your crew and answers the phone on the day.
Every yacht we charter is commercially registered with Transport Malta and carries passenger liability insurance. The skipper is licensed, local, and has usually worked these waters for a decade or more. That is the baseline of a legitimate Malta yacht charter, not an upgrade — and it is the first thing you should verify with any operator, including us.

Depart Portomaso by 09:00 to anchor at Comino before the ferries. Swim in the Blue Lagoon, move round the headland to the deeper Crystal Lagoon for snorkelling over the drop-off, lunch at anchor in Santa Marija Bay, home past the Comino caves.
Full day, 8–9 hours
Across the channel to Mġarr ix-Xini, then Dwejra and the Inland Sea on the west coast when the swell allows. Lunch at Hondoq ir-Rummien with the Comino cliffs opposite.
Half day, 4 hours
Into Grand Harbour past Fort St Angelo and the Valletta bastions, along the creeks of Birgu, Senglea and Cospicua, then out to St Peter's Pool to swim off the limestone shelf. The best route for guests who want history with their water.
Half day, 4 hours
Mellieħa Bay, Għajn Tuffieħa and the sheltered water behind St Paul's Islands. Shallow, calm and short — the route we suggest for toddlers or a first afternoon afloat.
Evening, 3 hours
Leave at 18:00, drift outside Marsamxett with the sun behind Sliema, hold station off the Valletta breakwater as the floodlights come up. Canapés, wine, no rush.
2–7 days
Ninety nautical miles to Pozzallo or Marina di Ragusa, then along the Sicilian south-east to Syracuse and Ortigia. Offered on yachts over 17m with a settled forecast and full crew.

Five steps from first message to stepping aboard.
Step 1
Use any form on this page or WhatsApp us. We need the date, the number of adults and children, your departure area and roughly what you want the day to feel like.
Step 2
Two or three suitable yachts with live availability, full all-in pricing, extras itemised separately and a suggested route with timings.
Step 3
We adjust the itinerary, add catering, drinks, toys and transfers, and confirm celebration details with the crew.
Step 4
The deposit holds the yacht and the date. Balance due seven days before departure by card, SEPA transfer or Revolut, with a VAT invoice issued immediately.
Step 5
You are met at the named pontoon fifteen minutes before departure for a short safety briefing. Your concierge is reachable all day.
When to charter
Sea 17–19°C, air 21–25°C, almost no crowds at Comino and the lowest rates of the year. Bring a light layer for the return leg.
The best all-round month: warm water, long daylight, settled north-westerlies and prices still below peak. Book four weeks ahead.
Sea 26–28°C, air 32–36°C. Shade and air conditioning matter more than speed. Comino fills by 11:00, so an early departure wins the day.
Our favourite month. The sea holds August warmth, the light softens and the Blue Lagoon empties from the second week.
Still swimmable, considerably cheaper and quiet. Some days are shortened by the first autumn fronts, so keep a flexible reserve date.
Limited winter charters for Grand Harbour cruising, corporate events and photo shoots on settled days, with heated interiors.
Standards
Every yacht holds a Transport Malta commercial licence and passenger liability cover, and we put the certificate numbers on your quote so you can check them yourself.
The person who answers your enquiry writes your route, briefs the crew and answers the phone on the day. No handovers, no call centre.
Fuel, harbour dues, Comino fees, water and towels are inside the price. Catering, drinks, toys and transfers are listed separately.
If the forecast will spoil the day we say so before you travel and move the date free of charge. We would rather lose a booking than sell a rough day.
We know which bay is sheltered in a north-easterly, which pontoon jams with cruise traffic and which crew are good with small children.

Charter in Malta is regulated. Every yacht we place guests on is commercially registered and licensed for charter under Malta's commercial yacht framework, administered by Transport Malta's Merchant Shipping Directorate. That distinction matters more than any marketing claim on this page, so here is how to check it and what it changes for you.
Ask any operator in Malta — including us — for the yacht's name and registration before you pay a deposit. It takes one question and settles the point.
Your confirmation names the marina, the pontoon and a boarding time, with the crew's number for the morning. Charter office hours are Mon–Sun 08:00–21:00 CET.

Yes, and it is the single most requested stop in Malta. We recommend departing by 09:00 to anchor before the ferries arrive, then moving to the Crystal Lagoon or Santa Marija Bay once the crowds build after 11:00.
June and September are the strongest months: warm water, settled winds, long daylight and prices below the July–August peak. April, May and October are cheaper and quieter but the sea is cooler and autumn fronts can shorten a day. Winter charters run for Grand Harbour cruising and corporate use on settled days.
The skipper monitors the forecast for seventy-two hours before departure. If the conditions are unsafe or would simply ruin the day, you are offered a free date move or a full refund of everything paid. We never sell a day we would not go out on ourselves.
Yes. Catered lunch runs €95–€185 per guest depending on the menu, a premium drinks package starts at €65 per guest, and a Mercedes V-Class transfer from your hotel, villa, the airport or the cruise terminal costs from €95 each way, timed to have you at the pontoon fifteen minutes before departure.
Four to eight weeks for July and August, one to two weeks in the shoulder season. Cancellations and repositioning gaps appear constantly, so a short-notice enquiry is always worth sending.
