## Destinations
- **Valletta & Grand Harbour** (Half a day either side of the charter; best for Embarkation, evenings ashore, arrival and departure days): Few charter destinations start like this. Grand Harbour is a working deep-water harbour ringed by 16th-century bastions, and a superyacht can berth inside it at Grand Harbour Marina in Birgu. Guests board with Valletta lit above them and step ashore for dinner in five minutes.
- **Comino & the Blue Lagoon** (A full day, or an overnight if the forecast allows; best for Swimming, water toys, long lunches at anchor): The Blue Lagoon is the single most photographed anchorage in Malta and it is genuinely worth it — provided you arrive before the day boats or stay after they leave, which is exactly what a yacht with its own tender allows. Santa Marija Bay and the Comino caves are quieter alternatives a few minutes away.
- **Gozo** (One to two days; best for Shore excursions, quieter anchorages, an overnight stop): Gozo is slower, greener and more agricultural than Malta. Yachts anchor off Ramla Bay or Dwejra, and guests go ashore for the Citadel in Victoria, a long lunch in Xlendi, or a morning at the salt pans on the north coast.
- **Malta's south coast** (One day; best for Exploration, snorkelling, seafood ashore at Marsaxlokk): Below the Dingli cliffs the coastline turns dramatic: sea caves at the Blue Grotto, the fishing harbour at Marsaxlokk, and sheltered swimming at St Peter's Pool. It is the least visited part of a Malta charter and often the part guests remember.
- **Malta + Sicily** (Seven days and up; best for Ten-day and two-week charters on larger yachts): Roughly 60 nautical miles separate Malta from the southeast coast of Sicily. On a suitable yacht with the right permissions and forecast, a week can take in Syracuse, Taormina and the Aeolian islands. This is a yacht-by-yacht decision, not a standing offer.

## Sample seven-day itinerary
- **Day 1 — Embark in Grand Harbour**: Board mid-afternoon at Grand Harbour Marina, meet the captain and crew, and settle in while the yacht clears. A short evening cruise along the Valletta waterfront, then dinner on the aft deck with the bastions floodlit.
- **Day 2 — Comino and the Blue Lagoon**: An early departure north puts you at anchor before the ferries. Swimming, seabobs and the tender through the Comino caves, then a late lunch on board and a quieter afternoon in Santa Marija Bay.
- **Day 3 — Gozo**: Cruise the Gozo coast, anchor off Ramla or Dwejra, and go ashore for the Citadel and lunch in Victoria or Xlendi. Overnight at anchor or alongside in Mġarr, depending on the yacht and the forecast.
- **Day 4 — Malta's southern coastline**: Down the west coast past the Dingli cliffs to the Blue Grotto sea caves, then round to St Peter's Pool for swimming and Marsaxlokk for a seafood dinner ashore if you want it.
- **Days 5–7 — Your programme**: Either a slower loop back through Comino and the northern bays, or — on a yacht with the range and permissions — a crossing to Sicily for Syracuse and the Ionian coast. The captain adjusts the plan each morning around wind and swell.

Weekly rates in our collection start at €66,000 for the 34-metre FELIGO V and rise to €875,000 for the 78-metre AMARYLLIS, before variable expenses. Cost varies with yacht size, build year, season, charter length and itinerary, so a single 'Malta superyacht price' would be misleading.

### What is included in a superyacht charter rate?
The base charter rate normally covers exclusive use of the yacht, the crew, standard onboard equipment and the yacht's insurance and operating costs as set out in the charter contract. Fuel, food and beverages, berthing, shore arrangements, taxes and gratuity are additional. Exact inclusions vary by yacht and contract.

### What is APA on a superyacht charter?
APA stands for Advance Provisioning Allowance. It is a sum paid before the charter — commonly a percentage of the base rate — that the captain holds as a float to pay running expenses such as fuel, food, drink, berthing and shore services. The captain accounts for expenditure during the charter and any unused balance is returned to you at the end. It is a budgeting mechanism, not a fee.

### Are VAT and taxes included?
Not automatically. Applicable VAT, taxes and local charges depend on the yacht, its flag, the contract and the itinerary, and Malta's tax authority maintains specific guidance on VAT and yachting. Your charter proposal sets out exactly which taxes and charges apply to your charter before you commit.

### How many guests can stay aboard?
Capacity is confirmed yacht by yacht. Most commercially certified charter yachts carry a maximum of twelve guests while under way regardless of berth count, while a small number of vessels certified under Transport Malta's Passenger Yacht Code can carry more under defined conditions. Static harbour events are assessed separately.

### Can I charter a superyacht for a single day?
Some yachts in the collection accept day charters and some do not — larger yachts often have a minimum charter length. Superyachts in the collection are priced by the week, so day charters are quoted individually where the yacht and her schedule allow. ### Can I charter for a weekend?
Yes, on many yachts, and it is a popular format in June and September. Weekend rates are proportionally higher than weekly rates because the crew, provisioning and preparation are the same regardless of length.

### What is the minimum charter duration?
It is yacht-specific. Smaller yachts in the collection will do a day; several of the larger yachts have a three- to seven-night minimum, particularly in July and August. We confirm the minimum with the yacht's central agent when we check your dates.

### Do Malta superyachts come with a crew?
Yes. Every yacht in this collection is fully crewed. There is no bareboat option at this size — a superyacht requires a professional captain and certified crew as a condition of its commercial certification and insurance.

### Is a private chef included?
On most yachts in the collection, yes — the chef is part of the crew and their wage is covered by the base rate. The food itself is charged as a variable expense against the APA. Chef provision is confirmed yacht by yacht.

### Which water toys are available?
It depends entirely on the yacht. Common inventories include tenders, seabobs, paddleboards, snorkelling equipment, wakeboards and inflatable platforms, with jet skis and e-foils on the larger yachts. If specific toys matter to your party, tell us and we will filter the shortlist on that basis.

### Can we visit Gozo and Comino?
Yes — they are the backbone of almost every Malta superyacht itinerary. Comino's Blue Lagoon and Santa Marija Bay work best early or late in the day, and Gozo suits an overnight with time ashore in Victoria or Xlendi.

### Can a Malta charter continue to Sicily?
Potentially, yes. Sicily is roughly 60 nautical miles from Malta and a suitable yacht can make the crossing comfortably. It depends on the yacht's range and certification, the charter length, commercial permissions, clearance and the weather window, so it is agreed yacht by yacht rather than assumed.

### Where do superyachts embark in Malta?
Most commonly Grand Harbour Marina in Birgu, which has deep water and dedicated superyacht berths, and Portomaso Marina in St Julian's for yachts it can accommodate. Mġarr in Gozo is possible for some itineraries. Berth suitability is yacht-specific and confirmed before contract.

### When is the best time to charter a superyacht in Malta?
June and September are the strongest months: warm water, settled weather and fewer crowds than midsummer. May and October offer the best value, and July and August offer the hottest weather with the highest rates and the tightest availability.

### How far in advance should I book?
For July and August, or for a specific named yacht, six to twelve months is realistic. For May, June, September and October, two to four months is usually enough. Last-minute charters do happen when a yacht has a gap in its programme, so it is always worth asking.
